Should have got the Z8

Thank you for that input - you are so correct. The new bodies are really awesome and help the new shooters get better results. I was figuring that most of the new shooters that watch my stuff or ask for advice are shooting wildlife so that is where my head was going here and why I mention that MY favorite focal length for wildlife is 800mm. I will do another video to clarify so thank you for the suggestion and the clarification. 🙏💖🤗

Thank you, thank you. I go out and have fun with my cameos. I dont like doing events because to me, they are not fun. I would gladly be someone's second shooter but I dont want the headache of it being all me. I think I dump more than I share and that is OK. I had fun being out. 🙏💖🤗

@@JonnyPink65 😄 I just bought it with the 90mm F2.8 macro. My first step into Sony. My first stabilized macro lens. I had to buy it to see if it helps filming insects. Also curious about the insect AF, but not expecting miracle.

I personally dont shoot any of my cameos in crop mode. All you are really doing is using a smaller section of the sensor. I prefer to use the full sensor and crop in when developing in post. 🙏💖🤗

Some are big, some are small..... but there are a couple that are REALLY big and those I stay a little farther back from. 🙏💖🤗

Chris!!!! I dont know why but lately I have been having fun with that. I use GoPro some of the time, so for a couple of the "set up" shots, I set it to slomo just for fun. I also like shooting the Canons hand held in fast frame rate for the same effect. All just fun. 🙏💖🤗

@@JonnyPink65 I really try hard to not buy that sony a6700 but the shop is at 600m. 😂 That could be my Christmas gift!...

After using the R6II, the R8 and the R50.... it will be. These new inexpensive bodies have better AF with other compromises. 🙏🤗💖

I recently rented a Z8 when Nikon had the new software update - it is better than it was. But in my opinion and for the way I shoot, even Canon's R50, and entry level $600 crop sensor body, and the R8 just smoke what Nikon can do. Again, just my opinion based on how and what I shoot. And to quote a couple of others who shoot different systems, unless you have used Canon, you just dont know. It is an eye opener. At some point, I do want to try a newer Sony - the A6700 was a LOT of fun to shoot. James just sent me a video showing a guy shooting his Z8 for dragonflies in flight and how good the AF is now. My R7 has been doing that since it came out and so did the older R5. OK, enough ranting. Thank you, thank you for letting me share!! 🙏💖🤗

Thank you, thank you!! That combo is one of my FAVORITES. I was shooting that combo a couple of days ago and after this video I am working on, I will work on that. I will have it in Arizona with me for hummingbirds in about a week from today. The R3 with this lens on one side, and the R7 with the 100-500 on the other. Such an AWESOME set up! 🙏💖🤗

Thank you. I had a Z9 for about 6 months and rented a Z8 with the last firmware update to see how much better it is. I really like the Z600mm and I do wish that Canon had one like that as well, but I use my 600 F4 hand held all the time. The Nikon eye AF is good and much improved but even Canon's entry level cameras outperform the Z8 in my use and the way I shoot. No system is perfect and we have to work around the limitations of what ever we are shooting. As long as we get out there and have fun, that is really all that matter. I do like the size of the Z8 sensor and the stacked performance. But like my new car, I also like performance that fits my wants!! 🙏🤗💖

I like the RF 100-400 on the R7. I did not try it with the 1.4 extender I have and since I do not have an RF 2X, I could not say. Canon Performance is pretty awesome, but I am not sure. Another inexpensive option on the R7 might be the RF 600 F11. Only a little more than the 2X and would probably give you better performance. 🙏🤗💖

@@JonnyPink65 I've got a 2021 Soul EX in Undercover Green. But yes, I wouldn't take an L series lens and still a K Mart filter in front of it. A quality filter is just as important as a quality lens.

@@flyonwall360 Amen. Up until two weeks ago, we had two Kia Souls. My wife had a top of the line 2021 GT with only 16k miles on it. She was hit in the side on the way home and it was a total. Now, we are looking for another. 💖

Thank you Gaylin!!! That is actually one of my very favorite lenses, especially on the R7. I take many crap and out of focus photos all the time and I dump those - I only pick the best of the best to present. I shoot in manual mode with the ISO set in auto, the aperture set as low as it goes (I do that on all my lenses), and keep my shutter speed high to freeze the motion. I trust the auto focus and almost never use manual focus unless the lenses just not find where I want it to focus, then I hit the auto focus and it locks on. The R8 - I really really like that camera body. So much fun to shoot. I think I actually prefer the digital stabilization in it over the R6II IBIS. The RF 800 F11 is such an underrated lens for sure. It is light, fast and sharp...... and affordable - what more can you ask for? My other favorite lens set up the is a bit more versile is the 100-500 with a 1.4 extender. A little pricy, but it is sharper and still light weight.
